Prime Minister says he will ban American XL bully dogs after rise in attacks

American XL bully dogs are a danger to communities and will be banned, Rishi Sunak has vowed, after a man was mauled to death.

Announcing the move, the Prime Minister said he “shared the nation’s horror” at such attacks and they could not be allowed to continue.

Mr Sunak was responding to the latest incident in which a man died after being savaged by two dogs outside a property in Stonnall, Staffordshire, on Thursday afternoon.

  1. There's no rise in these attacks. It's just that one happens, and then the news finds other ones to report on. Just like if a plane crashes. That week or months, there are more reports than usual.

  2. That man was screaming at the people who were there when he got attacked get me f**** knife and not one of the idiots got one, trying to hit a dogs with a plastic spade for god sake, why on earth could not of the 5 or 6 locals who live in same street just get him a knife to stab the dogs or even so one of them stab them.

  3. Banning the breed is like putting a sticking plaster over an arterial bleed. I’m not saying it’s necessarily the wrong thing to do but the problem runs much deeper. I’m not sure what the answer is here. Dogs are being taken on by people who buy a dog based on looks and do little to no research on the breed, what it was originally bred to do and how to manage those instinctive behaviours and are too lazy to put the work in to training and socialising them well. These are huge powerful dogs and this is the consequence.
