Travellers face Christmas strike misery

WARNING: THERE ARE FLASHING IMAGES IN THIS NEWS CONFERENCE.

Union bosses have announced a new wave of rail strikes over the festive period.

RMT boss Mick Lynch said members would walk out between 24-27 December.

That is on top of previous strike dates that had already been announced.

Mr Lynch said RMT members would now be balloted on whether to go ahead with strikes on 13-14 and 16-17 December.

  1. Simon Thompson CEO of Royal mail has used the cost of living crisis to destroy the terms and conditions of postal workers as he pays himself 62 thousand pounds a month, shameful behaviour by Thompson

  2. Cancelled my tickets (£140 back into my pockets) made other travel plans (sharing a ride with a friend, £50). Your move rmt. Seriously, the unions are a joke at this point, a greedy, silly out of date joke.

  3. Almost half of Network Rail staff earn more than £40,000, with more than a thousand employees earning £80,000-£120,000. there are nurses who don't even get that much and this people want to strike every year is the same thing even before COVID or the inflation get bad they were already creating strikes. So this is nothing new I just don't think they have a reason to complain considering how much they earn, And the amount of people who earn real min wages and are not even able to put food on their table.

  4. The best news to come out of this is Border Force are going on strike so no more illegals coming in. I think they should stay on strike forever, then the government might have funds to pay decent wages.

  5. Unions negotiations are with a management whose hands are tied by the government, all the government is doing is sniping at the unions, calling them communists and hoping they can taint a incompetent labour party , The Government should govern no name call ,The Government should be holding talks with the unions ,All this government do is talk to zelensky and give money to their arms manufacturing friends ,

  6. Lynch n dempsey r iinspirational to us all. Our culture is polluted by meritocracy n the cult of celebrity. Lynch n dempsey are inspireing woody guthries n ewan mcolls for a cultural change. N its only cultural revolution that can deliver real democracy. Not nukes ak47s or other weaponry. The thing all reacionary conservatism fears most is culture, sock it to us rmt. No passeran,! Forward to sweet liberation. PEACE

  7. Sky news owned by a Billionaire oligarchy. Reports only what the government and rail companies want. Why? Because they are propping up their own super rich class while the working man and woman suffer and slip further into poverty.

  8. THE GOVERNMENT IS ABUSING RAIL WORKERS, BY PROXY..!!
The are denying the Rail Companies any chance to offer any fair deal; in fact DISALLOWING Rail Companies from making offers.
THEN THEY TRY TO PRETEND, THAT THE PROBLEM IS CAUSED BY THE WORKERS..!!
There are perfectly reasonable things to say, that might probably get me arrested; due to the Conservative Party's UTTER DELINQUENCY and disregard for the HEALTH or QUALITY OF LIFE in the United Kingdom!
MOVE THE TYBURN TREE TO PARLIAMENT SQUARE..!!
    Clear enough?

  9. Just out of curiosity I just want to know when the strikers get the money they want will they strike again to lower the prices for the people who have supported them through there strikes because obviously the train fares will go up once they get there pay
